Elena Fumagalli
I was born in Venezuela to Italian parents attended high school in the USA after graduation I came to Canada with my family. As far as I can remember I've loved the arts I was always doodling, in High School I won a few prices with painting, drawings and calligraphy writing. Here in Toronto I attended the Brunswick School of Art and finished my BA at York University. It was in the early 2000’s that I first became interested in clay; I began by colouring
already made bisque pieces and taking part time classes at a local Guild. Being able to create my own pieces was so fulfilling. Becoming a member of the guild was the next natural step. Loving every aspect of clay I became fascinated with making sculptures out of clay. I continue growing and experimenting with the different possibilities clay presents.
My work can be found at: Burr House, Hill Potters Guild, Richmond Hill Studio Tour, and other Art Shows

I enjoy the meditative state that I experience when bringing my creations to life, There is something very special about using ones hands to express the creative thought that has been stimulated by inspiration, passion and love.
I find inspiration in nature, shapes, people and textures in the old and the new. Other potters and painters inspire me.
